"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name."There is something quite special about opening up our worship and prayer times with praise and thanksgiving. Adoring God for who He is and what He has done.
The psalmist knew it and in my experience, the best times of worship and prayer start with it as well! It opens up out eyes to God.
